Select News Journal considers original pitches about how people choose, organise and revisit reading. A strong contribution gives readers a clear decision or habit to consider, explains its limits and offers a useful next step without turning personal preference into a rule.

What we welcome

Pitch thoughtful comparisons of reading formats, ways to select material for a particular purpose, approaches to keeping reading lists manageable, or methods for returning to a text. We are interested in specific subjects that can help a general reader act safely without relying on professional advice, local rules, statistics or claims of testing.

What makes a good pitch

Tell us the proposed subject, the main point a reader will take away, why the piece is distinct from familiar advice and how you would support its claims. Include a short outline and note any relevant interests or material you would rely on. Do not send a full article unless requested.

How to send it

Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. We consider each pitch for fit, clarity and usefulness; sending one does not guarantee publication. Please do not include confidential information or material you do not have permission to share.
